25 Ways to Celebrate Random Acts of Kindness Day

With our endless school work, and all of the other things going on in our lives, we tend to forget about the little things. A smile. A compliment. A hug. It’s tiny things like these that can make a person’s day. That’s why we should make more of an effort to be kind to others in our everyday lives. And seeing as how Random Acts of Kindness Day is coming up on February 17th, now is the perfect time to start. Here’s a list of 25 kind things you can do to start a chain reaction of kindness.

  1. Compliment a friend/stranger/family member
  2. Hold a door open for someone
  3. Donate money to charity
  4. Let someone go in front of you in line
  5. Let your teachers know how much you appreciate them by surprising them with a letter or gift
  6. Make dinner for your family
  7. Volunteer at your local animal shelter/ any other organization that needs help
  8. Pick up trash
  9. Recycle
  10. Bake cookies for your friends
  11. Talk to someone who’s sitting by themselves
  12. Smile
  13. Send a positive text message to at least 5 people
  14. Offer to babysit for free
  15. Comment something nice on someone’s Instagram post
  16. Surprise a friend/family member with a little gift
  17. Catch up with an old friend
  18. Write letters to the military
  19. Donate any extra money you have to Girl Talk
  20. Donate your old clothes/toys to charity
  21. Give someone a hug
  22. Tell someone a joke and make them laugh
  23. Make pet toys to give to an animal shelter
  24. Hold a fundraiser like a bake sale or a car wash & give the profits to charity
