As the New Year is coming up, everyone asks each other that infamous question; what are your New Year’s Resolutions? The classic answer is usually to become fit, start working out more or start a new diet, and they tend to only last for a month at most before falling out because our lives get busy. This question has prompted me to think about what are my resolutions and I have thought of some advice I could give to help you stick to your resolutions.

I have taken a lot of care to when thinking about my resolutions, and I came up with two I am really excited about! The first is to start living my life more on a whim and taking chances. I tend to be someone who plays it safe and plans everything out, while this makes me really organized, I think it has added to some of my unnecessary stress. So in 2019 I am going to start saying “yes!” to more things that are not planned. My second goal is to start living more in my faith, while this may vary from person to person, for me I think this is a huge part of how I am going to be more successful in 2019.

So I have now shared some of my goals with you, you may be wondering, “Okay Jenna, we know your resolutions, but how are we supposed to reach ours?”

Okay, so here is my inside scoop on how to do it…

The first piece of advice is to pick something you are excited about! If you are excited about it you are more likely to complete it!

The second one is to pick one or two resolutions. Do not pick a laundry list of resolutions because most likely you’re going to forget about them and you’re going to stress yourself out too much about how to complete the hundred different things.

The third piece of advice is that if the resolution is about daily efforts make sure you leave time in your day to complete it! Try not to let your business be an excuse for not doing it, if you leave that time for it you’re sure to get it done.

And my last piece of advice is to create resolutions that you could complete with your friends and family. If your resolution is shared with someone you are close with, you guys can use each other for accountability! It also will help motivate you to follow through and if your doing it with someone else it will make it fun!

Now after reading this, I challenge you all to think really deeply about what you want your New Year’s Resolution to be and I hope this helps motivate you to follow through with it!
