Girl Talk's Teen Advisory Board is a collection of high school leaders who have been selected, through an annual application process, to participate in a unique leadership development experience. The board learns the ins and outs of our organization, receives monthly updates on Girl Talk, provides valuable insights on programming decisions, and serves as ambassadors for Girl Talk.
"Girl Talk has given me a purpose. I really feel like Girl Talk gave me a platform which I could support a cause I have always cared about. Through the Teen Advisory Board the past three years, I believe that I have grown to enjoy spreading this mission. Through camp, I honestly look back and realize how much I grew as a leader."
"Girl Talk has impacted my life by showing me who I truly am. It has change my whole perspective on life and helped me learn to love myself and others. Girl Talk has also given not only me, but also my sisters a place to call home."
"When I switched schools in 7th grade, I didn't know anyone in my grade. My friend Dori convinced me to go to a Girl Talk meeting, and I was immediately hooked. It was a place I could have fun and be proud of who I am. I've been with the program for five years now, and it still gives me thrills. I can do what I love, helping people, with a group of amazing, powerful women. I have role models in my peers, and I've made some of my best friends through Girl Talk. It's given me the confidence to put myself out there, doing things that would otherwise scare me. Girl Talk creates such a unique space for girls, where they can be themselves as they want. I'm so grateful that I'm a part of this program, it is a part of me."
"Girl Talk has impacted me by making me an overall better person. It’s opened me to new ideas and has taught me that there are others going through some of the similar situations I am. I have also made plenty of new life long friends."
"Girl Talk has taught me so many leadership skills through being a counselor at the camp and creating my own Chapter! I love being able to organize and run the Chapter for my girls that I’ve become so close with, and I hope they’ll become Leaders to take my place after I graduate."
"Girl Talk showed me that there were other girls who had been in situations like mine and that I was not alone when I was in middle school. It became a sanctuary during the summer as well as a wonderful place where I didn’t have to be afraid to be myself and make friends."
"For the past 2 years, Girl Talk has been sort of a safe haven for me. This organization has shown me that I am not alone in these difficult teenage years and it has boosted my self esteem to levels my middle school self couldn’t even imagine. "
"I have been a part of Girl Talk for five years. Girl Talk has taught me to follow my own path instead of others. Girl Talk has helped shape who I am today."
"I began my work with Girl Talk in my freshman year of high school and used it as a way to give back to my community. However, I had no idea how much of an influence I could have on the lives of younger girls. Not only did the organization make me more aware of the direct impact I have on others, it also allowed me to feel extremely connected with the rest of my community. The organization is absolutely wonderful and I would not trade my experiences with the girls for anything."
"Girl Talk has been a part of my life for the past 5 years, and I love it so much! When the high school Leaders came to my middle school, I learned how to have self positivity and confidence while also having a fun time. Now I get to pass on the good deed by teaching middle schoolers at my school the same lessons I was taught, and I always look forward to weekly meetings!"

"Even though I just joined the Girl Talk Teen Advisory Board, I know it will have a tremendous impact on my life. I feel empowered being a part of the Teen Advisory Board, because I am surrounding by other high school girls who are working to positively change the world. So far, Girl Talk has improved my self confidence and my willingness to believe in myself."
"Girl Talk made me realize that I'm not alone. It made me realize that there are so many girls who have been bullied or had issues with their confidence and self-image. And, when I realized this, I knew that I could help people like me, too. Because of that, I decided to become a Girl Talk counselor, helping middle school girls for a week every summer. Recently, I have been blessed to carry on the opportunity of being a Teen Advisory Board member--which was my dream--and pursuing my mission of inpsiring girls around the globe. Without Girl Talk, I would not be who I am today. I am forever grateful to this organization."
"Girl Talk is the overly peppy friend that always has your back, is there to throw glitter on you, and makes you cookies when you’re sad. What would I do without her?"
"During middle school, Girl Talk gave me girls to look up to and admire. It also gave me a place to be able to talk about issues I was having in a safe place with no pressure. Now, as a Leader, I still feel the impact when I know that I am helping girls or being a role model for them."
"I’ve been a part of Girl Talk since I was in 6th grade. When i first went into Girl Talk, I was nervous but I was immediately welcomed. Ever since then, Girl Talk has been a huge part of my life and has made me better as a person. Through Girl Talk I’ve gained so many amazing friends and met so many amazing women and I’m so glad I’ve found such an amazing organization to be a part of. Girl Talk helped me get through the rough times and I couldn’t be more thankful to be a part of something as wonderful as Girl Talk."

"When I joined Girl Talk, I had no idea how to pick friends or be one. When I became a Girl Talk Girl, my life changed. My view on friends changed and I was able to remove toxic people from my life. I have become a strong girl because of this. Girl Talk taught me how to love one another unconditionally. I am forever grateful for Girl Talk."

"Girl Talk has shown me what true compassion and acceptance look like. I have been blessed with the opportunity to connect with and watch the growth of our Pace Academy Chapter girls. I’ve gained an abundance of confidence and love from the program and only hope it can continue to impact others in the way it has impacted me!"
"Because of Girl Talk, I have learned many vital skills, including how to be a leader, how to be a mentor, and most importantly, how to be an inspiration to others. Helping young girls grow has been an indescribable experience for me.In my opinion, no feeling is quite as magnificent as the one of overwhelming joy when you watch the tiny seeds of girls bloom into beautiful flowers. I owe a lot to Girl Talk; without them, I wouldn’t be the same person I am today."
