What would you tell your younger self? Have faith, things will get better.
What was your major in college and how did you get to the position you are in today? I majored in Accounting. It wasn’t really my first choice, but I didn’t go straight into college from high school . Accounting became my major since it was work related and I do like working with numbers. It took a long time for me to get my current position. I started with the company in an entry level role and transitioned to other entry level roles through the years. One of the things I kept in mind with each role change was how it would help me achieve my goals. The experience I gained in my entry level roles combined with my college degree allowed me to be the best candidate for my current position.
How do you balance your work and personal life? Often times one has more importance, and we’re curious to know how you’ve handled the balance. I love my work so I dedicate a good deal of time to it. This can lead to a bit of an imbalance, but I don’t feel as though it is negative since I’m still doing something I enjoy. One of the things I do to maintain balance is planning activities I enjoy for my weekends. Time with friends and family is very important. I put my work phone on “do not disturb” during those times so that I can fully enjoy the moment(s).
What is your favorite quote? Good, better, best. I shall never rest until my good becomes my better and my better becomes my best. – Unknown
What’s your favorite ice cream? Ben & Jerry’s. I know it isn’t a specific flavor, but they have some great combinations. I don’t eat a lot of ice cream due to allergies, but when I do it’s almost always a Ben & Jerry’s flavor.
