What would you tell your younger self? Patience and attentiveness will help you achieve your dreams.
What was your major in college? Nursing, I am still going to school. I have a passion for helping people.
What was your inspiration and what helped you become successful? How do you define success? My inspiration was a nurse that cared for my grandmother after she suffered from a stroke. Success in my opinion is not necessarily being recognized for success but seeing change, and positive outcomes come from life situations I am involved in.
How do you balance your work and personal life? Often times one has more importance, and we’re curious to know how you’ve handled the balance. There is a healthy balance between work and home life. My kids are my everything, and my job helps feed my kids. My job also allows me to show my kids that you are able to do anything you set your mind to. I want my kids to be able to know I am here, I care, and I will always value them over everything.

What’s your favorite part of your job and why? Helping people solve issues. It’s nice to hear the lightbulb in people’s heads go off, or the happiness when an issue is successfully resolved.
What is your favorite hobby? Painting
What advice do you want to give the next generation of women leaders? Never let a person of any kind limit your dreams. Shoot for the highest goals and keep climbing through all the hardships, I promise it will get easier.
What does leadership mean to you? Leadership is setting an example for the youth to follow. Taking initiative to open arms and touch lives of those around us. Stand for something, and always stand for yourself.
What’s your advice on mentoring? Mentoring is so important. It gives people a way to learn or take advice and make something out of it.
What’s your favorite ice cream? Lately my favorite has been Half Baked by Ben and Jerry’s.
Is there any other information that you think Girl Talk members would benefit from? Be the woman you looked up to for these young women everywhere. Set an example for them, lead them, and show them that success is not always picture perfect, but perfectly pictured.
