Forgiving Yourself and Others Takes Courage

Blog Post Written By : JaKayla Kellem (Girl Talk Intern)

Courage is defined as the ability to do something that frightens oneself.

Forgiving yourself and others can take a lot of courage because it requires that you acknowledge the negative emotions you have towards yourself and others.

It can sometimes be scary to acknowledge mistakes that you make, which can lead to negative thoughts and feelings that weigh you down.

It’s okay to let go of those feelings and forgive yourself for past mistakes.

It is easy to think about how you would change actions if you could go back in time, but don’t be mad at yourself for doing something wrong. Instead, accept what happened and how you can learn from it, and then forgive yourself for it.

Like forgiving yourself, it can be hard to forgive others, but holding on to negative emotions towards others just makes you feel worse. You can let these emotions go once you forgive others.
