3 Acts of Kindness to Celebrate World Kindness Day

By: Jessica Rao

World Kindness Day is an annual celebration that was founded in 1998 by the World Kindness Movement. This day serves as a reminder of the importance of having compassion for others and the world around us. Kind acts can be big or small, and there are many ways that you can put a smile on someone’s face and make a difference in your community.

Reach out to a friend via text or email to see how they’re doing

Since we’re spending more time in our homes and many people are taking classes and have club meeting online, it’s good to check in on those you care about to see how they’re doing. This is a super easy way to spread kindness and make someone’s day better.

Write motivational messages with chalk on the sidewalk

This is a fun and creative act of kindness. You can choose any message that you want to, for example it could be something like “you’re the best!” or “have a great day!”. These cute and colorful messages will help put a smile on the faces of those who see them.

Donate something to charity, like food, clothes, toys, etc…

You can check to see if there’s a food drive, clothing drive, or something similar happening near your area. If not, there’s many organizations who still need donations, and you can find them by doing a little research online.
