She Leads – With Milton Inman

Name: Milton Inman

Job Title: Client Solutions Manager, CAI

What would you tell your younger self? Believe and Achieve.

What was your major in college? Public Relations. Hard work and passion for what I do and helping others achieve their goals.

What was your inspiration and what helped you become successful? How do you define success? My Dad was my early inspiration as he took nothing and employed hundreds, taking care of them even when times were tough.

How do you balance your work and personal life? Often times one has more importance, and we’re curious to know how you’ve handled the balance. Being single it is easy to get caught behind the computer and working late, however, I take time for myself by leaving electronics behind and going camping and decompressing. I don’t look at my work as a “job” but rather my passion so it is easy to wake up and enjoy doing what I do. I love to see my team succeed.

What is your favorite quote? “No one cares how much you know until they know how much you care.”

What’s your favorite part of your job and why? Helping team members succeed in reaching their goals.

What is your favorite hobby? Camping/Overlanding

What advice do you want to give the next generation of women leaders? Begin, the rest is easy.

What does leadership mean to you? Leaving no rep behind, never asking someone on your team to do something you wouldn’t do yourself. Lead by example at all times and inspect what you expect.

What’s your advice on mentoring? We all have the opportunity to learn something from someone no matter who they are or what their position is in life.

What’s your favorite ice cream? Vanilla

Is there any other information that you think Girl Talk members would benefit from? When I meet someone I don’t ask what they do because I don’t categorize them based on their job/title. Example if you ask me what I do – I camp.
