Random Act Of Kindness Day With Maddie B. (Girl Talk Ambassador)

February 17th is National Random Acts of Kindness Day! Kindness is all about loving others and doing things to help take care of them. Kindness is a huge part of Girl Talk and its mission. Every single person is going through something, but you just might not be able to see it. You never know if being a little extra kind can make someone’s day. Being kind to someone might make your day better! When you’re kind to someone, it allows you to develop relationships. One of my favorite quotes about being kind is, “unexpected kindness is the most powerful, least costly, and most underrated agent of human change.” Being kind seems like such an insignificant thing, but it is so important.

Being kind means taking action to show someone that you care about them and value them. Random acts of kindness can completely change someone’s day. Taking that extra amount of time and effort to love someone is so powerful. Not only for them but for you! When you are kind to others, you might even be a little kinder to yourself. With everything going on in the world right now, we all need a little kindness.

Random acts of kindness don’t have to be anything huge! It could be as simple as buying coffee for the person behind you in line (you may even start a chain of kindness)! Or it could be telling someone how much you love and appreciate them. Maybe it’s holding the door for someone or choosing not to gossip with friends. When we focus more on others than ourselves, good things happen, and the world seems a little less scary. Whatever it may be, any act of kindness has the power to make a difference.
