Crosby’s Girl Talk Story

My Girl Talk journey started in middle school at my school’s club when we were slowly adjusting back to in-person school after the COVID-19 pandemic. I also became the leader of my school’s Girl Talk Club in my junior year. I served as Girl Talk Camp Counselor in 2023 and as a Lead Counselor in 2024. I am currently a senior and excited to lead Girl Talk at my school again this year!

Girl Talk has taught me the value of being my true, authentic self. Thanks to Girl Talk, I feel confident enough to step out of my comfort zone without judgement because it is a community full of love and support. Now, I am not afraid to be more vulnerable, loving and confident!

Girl Talk has helped me not let my own insecurities prevent me from doing what I love by teaching me to embrace them.

Something that I would tell my nine-year-old self is that no one really pays attention to the things you do as closely as yourself. Girl Talk has helped me not let my own insecurities prevent me from doing what I love by teaching me to embrace them.

To anyone thinking of starting their own Girl Talk Club or joining one, I would tell them that they shouldn’t let their fears limit them. If they have enough grit and a willingness to try, they will succeed!
